Bhopal (11 November
2023): Playing a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of the
country, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of independent
India, is known for his unwavering commitment to fostering a composite culture
that celebrated the diversity of India.
“Maulana Azad
was a bearer of composite culture and a staunch supporter of Hindu-Muslim unity.
He firmly believed in the idea of unity between Hindus and Muslims, emphasizing
the importance of communal harmony in the nation's fabric,” MANUU College of
Teacher Education (Bhopal) Principal Prof. Noushad Hussain said here today.
While delivering his speech on the occasion of Azad Day, Prof. Noushad Husain motivated the students by narrating incidents from the life of Maulana Azad and exhorting them to follow in his footsteps. The birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad is celebrated throughout India as Education Day.
Prof. Noushad Husain concluded his speech by repeating one of Maulana's sayings: “In the world, those who walk stumble, those who run fall, and those who sit down with their legs crossed do not even stumble.”
On this occasion, various academic, literary, cultural and sports programs were organized with great enthusiasm and fervor at the College of Teacher Education, Bhopal. Students of B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D. participated in the week-long program with great enthusiasm.
The program included essay writing, debate, speech competition, quiz, bait bazi, drama, food fest and various sports. A rich tribute was paid to Maulana's efforts for education. In the concluding program of Maulana Azad Day, along with cultural programs, students with outstanding performance were awarded and honored to boost their morale.
Dr. Shabana Ashraf performed her duties as the Course Director for the organization of the program very well. The committee responsible for the academic, literary and cultural program formed various sub-committees for the successful organization of the program, which were headed by Dr. Talmeez Fatima Naqvi, Dr. Zaki Mumtaz, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Pritam, Dr. Sheikh Irfan Jamil, Dr. Tarnam Khan, Mr. Ahmed Hussain and Mr. Faheem Ahmed. Mr. Faheem Ahmed, the college's sports in-charge, inculcated the spirit and cheerfulness of a child player in the students through various sports. In the concluding session of the program, a symbolic Mushaira and folk songs of different states of India were presented, which was well-received by all the audience.
At the end of
the program, vote of thanks was given by the convenor of the program, Dr.
Talmeez Fatima Naqvi.
